Korin Shields’ journey into art wasn't scripted or foreseen. Spurred by a comment from an early art teacher, Korin's driving force on her artistic journey started out competitive, as she set out to prove her teacher wrong in his assessment of her talents. Over the years, that initial spark of competition has matured into something deeper - a genuine love for painting.

Korin’s style is whimsical, often illustrating bold and simplistic shadow silhouettes, but her craft is constantly evolving to focus on more detailed line work. Her journey is a reflection of patience and growth, each painted piece telling a bit more of her story.

Away from the canvas, life is about moments with the kids. It is in these everyday, unscripted experiences that Korin finds a grounding force, a reminder of life’s simplicity amidst the complex process of creation. 

In every piece Korin creates, there’s a bit of that competitive 7-year-old with something to prove, refined by the seasoned artist who’s learned to find beauty in every stroke, color, and shadow.
